LPSC Scientist Engineer Eligibility Criteria

Important Notes on Educational Qualification

• If a university mentions both CGPA and percentage of marks in the degree certificate or consolidated mark sheet, at least one criterion (either CGPA or percentage) should meet ISRO's eligibility norms.
• If a university mentions only CGPA, that CGPA must meet DOS/ISRO's eligibility criteria. Converting CGPA into a percentage of marks to decide eligibility is not permitted, even if the university has prescribed a conversion formula. The same criteria apply, with necessary changes, where only a percentage of marks is mentioned.
• Rounding-off of marks is not allowed.
• Candidates holding degrees from foreign universities should produce the equivalency certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi at the time of the Personal Interview.

Dual / Integrated Degree Holders

• Where the certificate mentions CGPA or percentage separately for graduation and post-graduation, the graduation and post-graduation CGPA or percentage will be reckoned as per the existing procedure.
• Where a single CGPA or percentage applicable to the entire course is mentioned, that final figure will be used to decide eligibility.
• Where the university does not prescribe any CGPA or percentage in the dual/integrated degree certificate, the cumulative CGPA or percentage in the final/consolidated mark sheet for the entire course will be used.
• These criteria apply uniformly, whether or not a university prescribes a formula to derive the CGPA or percentage for graduation or post-graduation.

LPSC Scientist Engineer Age Limit

The maximum age limit for all three posts is 30 years as on 13.10.2026.

LPSC Scientist Engineer Application Fee

Initially, all applicants have to pay a uniform application fee of ₹750 (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only). A refund is then made according to the category of the candidate.

Fee Payment and Refund Rules

• The refund is made online, only to candidates who appear for the written test.
• Candidates must provide bank account details such as name, account number and IFSC code while submitting the online application. The Centre is not responsible for refunds to candidates who do not provide correct and complete account details.
• Candidates in fee-exempted categories (SC/ST/Disability/Ex-Servicemen) must upload the applicable certificate on the Online Recruitment Portal for the refund.
• Female candidates belonging to UR/OBC/EWS categories need not upload any certificate for the refund.
• The fee can be paid immediately after submitting the online application. To pay later, candidates can use the 'Make payment' option on the online recruitment portal up to 1400 hrs on 14.10.2026.
• No other mode of payment will be accepted.
• If there is any error or failure during payment, the next attempt can be made only after 30 minutes.
• Bank transaction or user charges, if any, will be borne by the candidate.

LPSC Scientist Engineer Salary

Scientist Engineer 'SC' is placed at Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, with a pay range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500.

The notification does not give the in-hand salary or allowance details. It states that, as per Central Government orders, ISRO employees also receive benefits such as medical facilities for self and dependents, a subsidised canteen, House Building Advance, Leave Travel Concession, the National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme and other social security measures. LPSC Scientist Engineer Selection Process

The selection process for all posts consists of a Written Test followed by a Personal Interview.

Written Test Pattern

The Aptitude/Ability Test questions will be based on Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Diagrammatic Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and Deductive Reasoning.

Personal Interview

Based on performance in the written test, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum of 10 candidates. Candidates called for the interview will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also.

Qualifying Criteria

Weightage and Final Panel

For the final panel, 50% weightage will be given to the written test marks and 50% weightage to the Personal Interview marks. The final selection will be made from among candidates who qualify in both the written test and the interview, and the panel will be prepared purely on the total score obtained after applying this weightage.

If there is a tie during the final empanelment, the inter-se merit of candidates will be decided using the following tie-breakers, applied one after the other on a need basis:

1. Marks scored in the written test.
2. Marks scored in the essential qualification (M.E./M.Tech) as notified in the advertisement.
3. Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.

How to Apply for LPSC Scientist Engineer Recruitment 2026

Applications will be received online only. The online Recruitment Portal will be available from 1400 hrs on 29.09.2026 to 1400 hrs on 13.10.2026 on the LPSC website. The direct application link is not given in the notification text provided.

1. Visit the online Recruitment Portal on the LPSC website.
2. Fill in the online application form with complete and correct details, including a correct email ID.
3. Upload a photograph as per the specifications given below.

Important Application Instructions

• Candidates can apply for more than one post, but those intending to do so should apply separately for each post. LPSC reserves the right to conduct the examination for two or more posts simultaneously, as per administrative requirements.
• In case of duplicate or multiple applications, only the latest application for which the application fee has been received within the last date of payment will be considered.
• Applications submitted without complete information, photo, etc. as specified will be summarily rejected.
• Candidates registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may apply through the online recruitment portal on the LPSC website, following the same application procedure.
• Candidates working in Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous bodies, etc. have to apply under intimation to their present employer. They must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview or when called for by LPSC/ISRO. A candidate who fails to submit the original NOC at the time of the interview will not be permitted to appear for the interview.
• Candidates must produce original documents at the time of the interview as proof of the details given in the application. Those who fail to do so will not be allowed to attend the interview, will not be paid Travelling Allowance and will have no claim to participate in the further recruitment process.
• Details of the written test, interview, etc. will be intimated through email or the LPSC website only. LPSC will not be responsible for non-communication due to a mistake in the email ID provided by the candidate.
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
• Travelling allowance, train fare or bus fare will not be paid for attending the written test.
• Outstation candidates called for the interview will be paid to-and-fro Second Class railway fare by the shortest route on production of the ticket, if they are not availing the concession offered by Indian Railways.
• Women candidates are encouraged to apply, as the Government strives to have a workforce that reflects gender balance.
