Note: Engineering Degree can be B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. Engg. Candidates with a 5-year integrated B.E./B.Tech. + M.E./M.Tech. dual degree in the relevant discipline are also eligible. Candidates with a 5-year integrated B.E./B.Tech. + MBA or B.E./B.Tech. + M.Sc. are also considered, provided the final percentage meets the notified criteria. Candidates with an engineering degree in a branch/discipline other than those listed above are not eligible. Only full-time regular courses from UGC-recognized/AICTE-approved institutions are considered.
Minimum Qualifying Percentage & Passing-Year Conditions
- General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates: minimum 65% marks in the Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- SC/ST/PwBD candidates: minimum 60% marks (a 5% relaxation), applicable only against posts reserved for SC/ST/PwBD. SC/ST/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved posts are assessed under general merit standards with no relaxation in minimum qualifying percentage.
- No rounding off of marks is allowed (e.g., 64.99% is not treated as 65% for UR category).
- Eligible candidates: those who completed their Bachelor's degree in Engineering in 2026, OR those currently in the final year (2026–27) of their Engineering degree course.
- Candidates who completed their Engineering degree in 2025 or earlier are not eligible to apply.
- Final-year candidates must have secured the minimum prescribed percentage (65%/60% as applicable) in aggregate up to the last semester/year examination at the time of applying, and must submit the final degree certificate (or at least a provisional certificate) and all semester/year mark sheets confirming the minimum prescribed percentage by 31 August 2027.

- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) is applicable only against posts reserved for the respective category; if applying against an unreserved post, such candidates are assessed under general merit with no age relaxation.
- PwBD age relaxation applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved, provided the post is identified suitable for PwBDs.
- Ex-servicemen with at least six months' continuous service in the Armed Forces may deduct their actual service period from their age; if the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum by more than 3 years, they are deemed to satisfy the age condition.
- Maximum upper age of the applicant, after all possible relaxations, shall not exceed 56 years.

GAIL Executive Trainee GATE-2027 Selection Process- GAIL will use GATE-2027 marks (not GATE 2026 or earlier) to shortlist candidates for Executive Trainee recruitment.
- Eligible candidates must first register for and appear in GATE-2027 in the relevant paper corresponding to their discipline (see Posts & Disciplines table above).
